Bryan: When I was just starting out as an actor, you know, you take all kinds of odd jobs … I worked for a security company, and they said “Hey, we got a good gig for you tonight; you’re going to be Alfred Hitchcock’s personal security.” And I thought, great … it’s a big thing: Alfred Hitchcock, the famed director; I was a huge fan. As it turns out, I went to the awards [show] and I was outside in the parking lot; I was actually guarding his car, not Alfred himself. But when he drove up, I opened his door; and the great director, there he is; he steps out onto the curb, and I said to him — we had a moment, and I said, “Enjoy your evening, Mr. Hitchcock” to which he replied, and I’ll never forget: “AHHHGH!”

Poverty
yo, i know that its rough when the goin’ get tough, and the tough keep goin, and its only enough…but i’m known to surive so ya gotta get up…and just dust yourself off and get on with your life..
now as i speak theres a boy with a blade to his wrist..
who can’t deal with this world and this pain that exists..
he’s insane. he insists…
to remain a statistic..
so to take his own life all his pain will diminish..
his grades are consistent, straight a’s so he’s gifted
so these kid’s at his school, the same age’ll just diss him..
whats his mom doin’…complainin’ and bitchin..
cause he won’t clean his room, and the stain’s on the dishes…
his dad’s a dead beat, so he ain’t in the picture..
just a person with the same face he was givin’…
his brain is racin’ so he can’t pay attention..
but his mom don’t encourage his brain, she just hits him..
whats’ he gotta do? be a man an envision..
a life of his own and just make a decision..
and put the blades down..and be thankful he’s given
a chance to go hard, and a chance to be livin’

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle
I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? But if I’m not the same, the next question is, ‘Who in the world am I?’ Aha, that’s the great puzzle.
